Thalia was one of the first farms in the area settled in the late 1800’s.
A stroll around the property gives a glimpse of years gone by, a time when people were more self-sufficient with fruit trees, citrus, and olive trees.
Thalia’s location on the edge of the Murray River flood plains gave access to water and fertile plains for cropping. Three generations of Jaench family farmed the property until it was subdivided into smaller allotments. In 1910 the original Founders built a new house for his son, and this is the house that now accommodates “Thalia Getaway”
